20 July, 10.00 – 4.00, Free outdoor event
With its celebration of local foods and crafts, coupled with a panoramic setting, don’t
miss The Bowes Museum’s massively popular outdoor Summer Market.
Around 40 stalls will feature some of the best in local produce and crafts - browse and buy a hand-picked selection of affordable stylish gifts including original art, jewellery, pottery, ceramics and homeware, handbags, cards, ironware, hand-painted tops and T-shirts and home decor items in wood.
And who could resist the mouth-watering fare on offer among the display of local cheeses, chutneys, jams and pickles, cakes and home-made confectionery, plus local beer from the Black Paw Brewery.
An added attraction to this year’s market will be Teesdale Alpacas, whose staff will be in attendance with some of their animals, selling items made from their wool including hats,
scarves, socks and clothes and talking to visitors about these adorable creatures.
