This networking event is for writers, poets, publishers and illustrators. You’ll be able to showcase work, share your aspirations, meet your peers working across the sector, and generate new commercial ideas. You will also have the opportunity to explore the current exhibition The BFG In Pictures.
Jane Shaw of Durham Creatives, who has over 20 years’ experience of supporting creative people commercialise their work, will facilitate the event and share examples of commercially successful collaborations, explore the do’s and don’ts of working in this way, and explain how Durham Creatives might support you. Rosie Bradford, Bowes Museum’s Public Events Co-ordinator, will also be joining us to talk about how collaborations with artists enhance the Museum’s public programme.
Join collector Ian Newton for an introduction to the ceramicist Charlotte Rhead and her work. This talk complements the current exhibition Charlotte Rhead: Between Art and Industry. Free for Pass Holders
Trick or Treat! Halloween excitement for all the family, come and make a witch’s broom, create a potion and take part in the magician trail during this drop in session. Lots of crafty activities to keep you out of mischief! Children must be accompanied by an adult for whom normal admission applies. Free to pass holders.
To celebrate Halloween, join Honorary Archivist Judith Phillips for a short gallery talk, exploring John and Joséphine Bowes’ curiosity for the supernatural. Free to pass holders.
Celebrate Halloween with fancy dress fun, music and games. Join in with apple bobbing, crafts and a spooky ghost hunt. A mad scientist will be creating smoke, potions and bubbles for the occasion! Food will be available before the fun begins, and also refreshments for adults to purchase.
