Seaside Fun Visit the Only in England photography exhibition and take part in a variety of fun seaside themed crafts in this drop in session. Children must be accompanied by an adult, for whom normal admission applies.

Wild Adventures in the Woods

Learn outdoor survival skills in the museum grounds with Rachel Dawber. Make shelters, saw and split wood, learn how to light a fire with a flint and steel before whittling wood for marshmallow sticks. Then relax and enjoy hot chocolate and marshmallows around the camp fire. Suitable for age 7+ who must be accompanied by an adult for whom there is no charge for this event.

Join Dr Simon Ward, whose subject Not Only in England: Non-conformist Documentary Photography both Sides of the Iron Curtain in the 1970s and 1980s, complements the current exhibition Only in England. Dr Ward is a Senior Lecturer at Durham University where he teaches German literature and visual culture. Organised in conjunction with the Centre for Visual Arts and Culture at Durham University.
