Tapestry: 'Triumph of Time'

Fragment of a very large tapestry. Wool warp, weft mainly wool with silk highlights and details. The upper part, the coat-of-arms of Philip of Cleves (1456-1528). Under this is the Scorpion, and on either side two flying hours, women in blue monochrom. Underneath part of a crowd, mostly life size men in armour, against a background of bushes and on the right half the figure of Time with wings and a scythe. Size: 262.5 x 205 cm
