Temporary Gallery Closures

Weddings

The Bowes Museum is fully licensed for weddings and civil ceremonies. Due to weddings, there will be the following temporary closures:

On September 5, The Nineteenth Century Picture Gallery and The Music Room will be closed all day.

On September 18, The Music Room will be closed all day, the Prehistoric People exhibition will be closed between 11.30am and 1pm. If the weather is inclement, the Nineteenth Century Picture Gallery will be closed between 12 noon and 2pm.


Ceramics Galleries
The Bowes Museum is currently refurbishing the Ceramics Galleries. The aim of this programme of work will be to improve accessibility to the Museum’s large and important collection of ceramics and increase visitors’ enjoyment of it. The ceramics galleries are partly re-opened but are a work in progress.

The Bowes Museum is a registered charity. Admissions are donation inclusive and can be Gift Aided. For every £1.00 paid the Museum can reclaim 28p. If you are not a UK taxpayer or do not wish to make a charitable donation the admission prices are as follows: Adults £9.25, Concessions £8.50, 6 Month Admission Pass £14.00.
