Online CPD

The Bowes Museum CPD programme is designed to help you develop and invest in the future; supporting the next generation of artist, makers and designers in reaching their potential. Our ambition is for educators to know about great artists, craft makers and designers and feel confident in using museum spaces as a tool for learning. Cultural venues are an invaluable resource that inspire learning, critical thinking, create debate and shared conversations.

Spend some time with our team of artists by taking part in a wide range of online sessions designed to support a broad and balanced curriculum. In a 90 minute workshop created for you to enjoy with colleagues; you will take part in practical approaches for teaching a variety of art disciplines. Suitable for every level of educator wishing to gain new skills and confidence. This is an opportunity to find out about The Bowes Museum’s collection and take a peek into new exhibitions.

Each one of these online sessions has been developed by specialists and introduces you to one of our professional artists who have vast experience in delivering skills-based workshops for all key stages. These hands-on online sessions will demonstrate how you can creatively use the Museum’s collection and exhibitions as a valuable resource for curriculum based learning. Step by step workshops offer the chance to get hands on with materials you have available in your classroom supported by an Education Pack emailed to you in advance.

What will the session involve?
On booking a place, you will be emailed a zoom link for the session. You are encouraged to collect resources readily available in your classroom for each of the creative sessions. A pdf CPD Education Pack will be emailed to you with a list of suggested resources required for each session. The pack will also include instructions for the creative activities delivered in the session. The session will be recorded for you to watch again (permissions required).
