I am a multi-media artist who has a rather eclectic ability and taste in art and love to show this in my workshops, through the types of subjects and media I choose to use.
I believe art is so important for us all, it feeds the soul and as a creative practitioner I want to show others that art really is for everyone despite any limitations we possess. 3D art/sculpture is a favourite of mine, as well as recycled arts – being able to turn things that otherwise would have gone to landfill into works of art is very fulfilling. Other art which inspires me is abstract because of the lack of formality and the ability to be as expressive as one desires with little to no rules! I have a particular love for printing as an art form – gelli plate, block and mono printing are just some that have endless outcomes and no two are rarely the same which makes it an even more unique and fun art form.
I have been teaching art in community settings for a number of years to people of different ages and abilities and have witnessed the positive effects that it has on them as well as seeing all the wonderful creations over the years! I especially enjoy delivering art workshops to young people who would otherwise not have the opportunity to engage in different art forms, as well as older people who may have lost their confidence or have a more narrow minded idea of what art can be; it is so rewarding to bring joy to others through art!
