School’s out! This May half term, dive into a fantastic programme of free activities included within admission, inspired by the museum’s wonderful collection, nature in the parkland and exhibitions not to be seen elsewhere.
Families can enjoy daily self-guided creative activities and trails, join the 11:00 Spotlight Tour for a brief introduction to the collection, or run off some energy and explore 22 acres of beautiful parkland. Special events include Nature Spotters on Tuesday and Friday, Bug Club on Thursday and artist-led workshops in the Create Space on Wednesday during the school holidays, and every Saturday.
Adults can enjoy exclusive talks by contemporary artists Charlotte Hodes and Matt Smith, whose work is currently on show at the museum.

A friendly and informative introduction to an exhibition, the collection or building. Led by The Bowes Museum’s team of Visitor Attendants, Curators and Volunteer Tour Guides, join us for an informal 30-minute tour, everyday at 11:00, and 2:30 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday to find out more.
