Brush & Bubbles

Discover the many meanings of “romantic” in this imaginative, hands-on workshop inspired by artworks in The Blue Picture Gallery. With a complimentary drink in hand, you’ll explore how different artists interpret romance, emotion and connection through their work.

Guided by an experienced artist, you’ll begin with a series of playful drawing exercises to help you loosen up and observe your subject in new ways. You’ll create a portrait of a friend, family member or loved one, experimenting with mark-making and expressive techniques. You’ll then move on to acrylic paints, adding colour, depth and detail to bring your artwork to life.
