Richmond Chamber Orchestra concert

A delightful summer Sunday afternoon classical concert is in prospect at St Mary’s Church, Wycliffe. The concert is by Richmond Chamber Orchestra and will be presented by the Friends of The Bowes Museum on Sunday, July 21, at 3.00 (doors at 2.30).
The ‘pocket-sized’ chamber orchestra comprises no more than 20 players of high quality under an exciting young professional musical director, Philippa Mo. They first performed in March in the Georgian Theatre, Richmond: ‘It was like having an orchestra playing in your living-room,’ said one of the members of the sell-out audience.

The programme for this concert, with reduced forces and harp, celebrates the flowering of British musical genius from 1892-1939: from Elgar to Vaughan Williams. More information about the orchestra from http://www.richmondchamberorchestra.co.uk.
