Uncover the Vaults

Go behind the scenes and gain rare access to the vaults that house objects from the ceramic, furniture and textile collections. You’ll learn about the history behind some of the most interesting pieces and will hear about conservation techniques used to preserve them for future generations.  This event is part of our Heritage Open Days programme, celebrating England’s largest festival of history and culture. 

Taking place in the Vaults, recommended for all visitors, children under 14 must be accompanied. Maximum of 12 people at any one time in a vault, access limited.
